Colourway: university red/white-black
Style Code: 526628-610
Release date: 1st May, 2013
This University Red Flyknit Racer was released the same year as the “Volt” and “Team Orange” racers. Those three colourways are regarded as the ‘OG’ colourways for this sneaker line and as mentioned in previous blogs they are becoming increasingly difficult to acquire in deadstock condition.
The design of this colourway with the half colour/half black silhouette makes them one of my favourite sneakers to date. The shoe has a University Red upper on the outside of the shoe and a black upper on the inside. Red Flywire runs through the material holding the shape of the shoe together. A white swoosh is the centerpiece on both the inside and outside of the shoe, this is a great contrast to the colours of the Flyknit material.
My personal experience with trying to find this colourway was quite exhausting. When I found a deadstock condition pair online, the price was always far above my budget. The reason these shoes are so expensive is due to the fact that they are one of the original Flyknit Racer releases and this colourway is especially versatile.
If you find these sneakers deadstock for less than €250 then I highly recommend that you buy them as soon as you find them. It is very rare that they will appear for a reasonable price. Most sellers are willing to reduce the price for a fast sale so don’t be afraid to barter.
Average Deadstock Price: €250-400
Average Used Price: €200-220
